MRHD Marketing manager Sharon spoke to encourage participation in the Kingman 66 Fest Motorcycle Show on November 5 at Lewis Kingman Park from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.

There were 26 members in attendance

0730: MRHD (full tank/empty bladder) for sign in/safety briefing.

Route:

Left on Beverly to Harrison to Rte 66W, I-40                                          10mi

West on I-40 to Exit 9, AZ-95S to LHC/Parker                                        34mi

 AZ-95 south to:

Crossroads Café, 612 S California Ave, Parker for breakfast                 58mi

 

*Fueling option for those who feel it necessary

 

After breakfast: AZ-95S to Quartzsite, stop at Hi Jollys Tomb

for photo op, then pit stop at Pilot Travel Center                                    37mi

**Also a side trip to Bouse’s monument if enough interest. Will

 add an extra 15mi to Parker-Quartzsite leg

 

After Quartzsite stop: AZ-95S to Yuma                                                   85mi

Days Inn by Wyndham

I chose these because they are literally at the Yuma Mall which

gives you a large and condensed selection of places to eat or drink

within walking distance

           Ruby’s Diner; Denny’s; Cracker Barrel; McD’s (same area as hotels)

1000:  Center of the Universe, Felicity, CA

            Yuma Territorial Prison, Yuma

            Quartermaster Depot, Yuma (may be after lunch depending on time)

1330:  Lunch at Lutes Casino, downtown Yuma

Free Time Options :  3 casinos in the Yuma area; Algodones; San Luis;

World Famous date shakes in Dateland, AZ


3rd Day:

0800:  Meet for coffee/breakfast at ;

0900 +/-:  Safety Briefing…KSU

West on I-8 to Exit 159 to Ehrenberg (Ogilby Rd/CA-78/I-10)               93mi

 for pit stop

 After: North on Mohave Rd and AZ-95N to Lake Havasu City                  82mi

 for pit stop.***

 Lake Havasu City to Kingman, Az                                                            60mi

 

END OF RIDE

 

FYI:  Pit Stop refers to fuel, bathroom break, ***food if consensus,

or  just a stretch break

 

This will pretty much stay the same.  Only additional thing I can see

is…if there are members from the river of from LHC that are going. 

I recommend we set a meet for the river members at Loves Truck Stop

( Exit 9) at 0830-0845hrs; and the LHC members we meet at Oro Grande

x AZ-95N 0915-0930.  Short stop, sign up and continue…


  • Breakfast at Ed and Sebrena's.on October 30, 8-10 am at 4377 Box J 

    $5.00 per person- guests welcomed 


Shelly: 

  • Christmas Party December 17th 6:30-1030 pm. Cost is $30 per member/$40 nonmember. We will collect for the party during November and December meetings. Rooms are available at the Riverside Casino for $67.50 
  • There will be a food drive during our November meeting, so please bring any non-perishable items to donate. 
  • The Toys for Tots ride on November 27th, more detail to follow.

  • Len: The traveling Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial Wall will be escorted in to Bullhead High school on October 19th, Organizers are hoping to get 100 riders to escort the Wall. VFW Post 404 is having a breakfast starting at 9:00 am. The wall will leave there at 11:00 am.
