Meeting Notes 4/8/23

We have had a great first quarter of riding, so far we have ridden 1239 miles in 5 rides!

I would like to cover safety on our rides this meeting. It is the most important subject as we dont want anyone in a wreck or having issues. We all know we are having issues with our roads in this area and there are a ton of pot holes. If the right lane is really bad for a period of time , we will move to the left lane until it is better . We always are at the posted speed limit or 5 over and if cars cant wait then they can pass us on the right. It is not worth putting our group in danger just so cars can pass at higher speeds. I have tried single file and that does not seem to work .

We should always be riding staggered with 2 seconds between bikes. You should never “push” the rider in front of you just to gain speed. If you are unhappy with riding next to someone, move at the next stop and explain your not comfortable. We do not all ride the same and we should be respectful to others.

Please pass on hand signals, point our bad holes, slow down, ect.

The last two rides I counted 7 hwy patrol that we have “seen” and they have not had any issues with us.

Thanks to Sid Street for all his work on the blog & web site. He has noticed an increase in views. Thanks to Marc Recker for the great pictures he is taking for the group.

I am really happy about the positive feeling around on our rides.

Thanks, Scott Sims
