Ride to Wickenburg for lunch

Image
25 APRIL 2021 MRHOG Ride to Wickenburg This morning a group of MRHOG members met at the Mother Road Harley shop for a lunch ride. Our Road Captain, Lonnie W. led us to Anita’s Cocina in Wickenburg. We departed under clear and sunny skies, but with some strong winds accompanying us most of the way. We also had the wind on our return ride and I think it was blowing a bit harder. Upon arrival at the restaurant, and a few minutes wait, we were seated. The waitress promptly served our drinks along with chips and salsa and took our individual orders for lunch. After lunch we rode around the corner to the American Legion and spent a few minutes at the Korean War Veterans Memorial. Marc & Elsa walked across the street to look at an old time steam locomotive. The rest of us went across the street to window shop at a hat store. We spied a tarantula next to the front door. I tried tapping it with my toe to get it to move. No such luck, it was bolted to the sidewalk!! Then it was time to top

Death Valley Overnighter

13-15 APRIL 2021 What a great trip this has been! Isn’t that part of a song? Had a great time on our Death Valley ride. We had six bikes and a trike ( 9 members). The weather was fantastic! Never too hot, and even a little chilly sometimes. Who would’ve thought? The route was great (thanks Lon and Gordon). Death Valley was beautiful with its strange, unusual surroundings, view and rhythmical sweeping roads. There was only one mishap. Gene’s trunk hinge came undone, opened and dragged along the short bit of freeway we had. He neglected to pack the duct tape but we all put our two cents in and came up with a bungee and cloth. The best part of this journey, in addition to riding, was sharing time, stories, and making memories with friends! I  look forward to our next ride with more of you members.
